A Little Bit About Mikhail’s Background
Mikhail Grinberg is a Partner at Renaissance Strategic Advisors. Mikhail joined the firm in 2012 and leads its corporate strategy and advanced technology projects. Mikhail advises corporate, financial, and start-up clients across multiple functional areas to include: corporate strategy and planning, mergers and acquisitions strategy and due diligence, and competitive analysis.
Mikhail has a particular interest in helping firms develop growth strategies with new capabilities and business models. He also specializes in working with commercial firms seeking to enter the national security market and with international firms that are building a US presence. He has led multiple engagements in autonomy, hypersonics, directed energy, augmented reality, unmanned systems, space, and other critical and rapidly changing emerging technology market areas. Mikhail has conducted wide-ranging research and writing on innovation and technology management. Prior to joining Renaissance, Mikhail worked at Deloitte Consulting supporting the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community customers and at Jane’s Information Group where he first worked as an Intelligence Analyst and then a Business Analyst.
Mikhail serves as an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS). Mikhail was one of the founders of The Strategy Bridge, a national security focused non-profit and journal of which he is currently a Board Member. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Young Professional in Foreign Policy, an organization dedicated to promoting a new generation of foreign policy leaders. Previously he has served as the Chief Financial Officer of the Defense Entrepreneurs Forum. Mikhail was a Visiting Research Fellow at the National Defense University from 2016-2017 where he helped think about how to commercialize government innovations.
Mikhail holds a Master’s in International Security and Terrorism from the University of Nottingham, UK and a Bachelor’s in Political Science and History from the University of Massachusetts.
