The White House, along with the Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration (EDA), has announced 31 tech hubs in 32 states and Puerto Rico, covering quantum computing, artificial intelligence, semiconductor manufacturing, and other tech stacks. It also announced 29 recipients for Strategy Development Grants (SDG). The Tech Hubs can apply for implementation funding, ranging from $40 million to $70 million each, totaling nearly $500 million. Backing the program is the CHIPS and Science Act, with $10 billion invested into the Tech Hubs, and $500 million in fiscal year 2023 from the Consolidated Appropriations Act.
